Buddhistisch : Bhaubeej in Indien genannt, ist dies eine Bhai Bij Legende in der hinduistischen Mythologie: Nachdem er Narkasur erschlagen hatte, besuchte Lord Krishna seine Schwester Subhadra, die ihn mit Süßigkeiten und Blumen herzlich willkommen hieß. Sie hat auch liebevoll Tilak auf Krishnas Stirn aufgetragen. Seitdem begann der Brauch, Bhaubeej oder Bhai Bij zu feiern. Mit der Bhaubeej-Zeremonie im traditionellen Stil führen die Schwestern Arti ihres Bruders auf und tragen dem Bruder ein rotes Tika auf die Stirn. Diese Teeka-Zeremonie anlässlich von Bhai Bij steht für die aufrichtigen Gebete der Schwester für das lange und glückliche Leben ihres Bruders.
